Significance
The complex of Shahbulag Castle was started by Panahali Khan (founder of Garabakh Khanate), near Shah’s Spring, 10 km away from Aghdam city. The complex was finished in 1751-1752. It is constructed with roughly-hewn stones. The castle represents one of the simplistic examples of the military architecture of Azerbaijan Khanates.

State of Preservation
Mosques, houses, public baths and a market was constructed within the Shahbulag Castle Complex. Only the castle on the hill and the mosque have survived up to this date. The castle restored in 1985, in July 1993, the castle was restored and a small museum was opened inside the castle
